Momentum Plaza occupies more than 5,000 square meters of land, on the remains of the old hotel Jamaica, which was demolished and on which the new avant-garde hotel was built. The whole area has been converted into a space open to the city, including a large public square measuring 3,500 square meters for the recreation of residents and tourists. The state-of-the-art shopping centre houses important international fashion and catering brands, as well as attractive and innovative gastronomic concepts. It demonstrates its commitment to the deseasonalisation of the town, guaranteeing its opening throughout the year.
Between the streets of Avenida de Magaluf and Calle S’Olivera, the Company has built a large open plaza with commercial and leisure spaces run by prestigious brands. That, in the words of Mark Hoddinott, General Director of the Group’s Real Estate, “will become the square that Magaluf town lacked, a space for public use for residents and tourists, who will no longer have to leave Magaluf in the afternoon to find high-quality shopping and restaurants. It will increase the towns’ amount of commercial activity on offer, continuing the process already started by centres such as La Vila”.
For Momentum Plaza, citizens living in Magaluf and Mallorca are the same or even more important than tourists. Therefore, by completing the work already started by La Vila shopping centre and Leisure Park Kathmandu Park, Momentum Plaza enriches the quality of the towns’ commercial activity on offer, whilst considering all Mallorcans in every season of the year and revitalising Magaluf for its residents “.
The shopping centre is complete with 200 underground parking spaces. “Building the parking has been the most expensive and complex part” Hoddinott explains, “but a commercial and leisure square of this size and ambition cannot be achieved without sufficient and quality parking spaces for its customers”.
